LED Installation and Effects

All the LEDs in the blade are Neopixels, 144 LED/m density. They are controlled by an Adafruit ItsyBitsy arduino microcontroller, and powered by a 5000 mAh power bank all embedded into the blade. The power and effect swap switch are fed down to the skull where buttons are hidden beneath the flame laurels. The eyes of the skull are simple green LEDs tied into the main power line.

The full blade can be completely disassembled if there are any issues with the LEDs.

There are three main effects programmed in - a green fire effect that emanates from the bottom runes and travels up the blade, a static green, and rainbow party mode. The fire is the main effect, the static green is for photoshoots, and the rainbow is required per propmaker law. The fire and static green also have low-power mode for dark rooms and/or power conservation. The fire code was taken from this code with some minor tweaks applied.
